Right side Cv axle removal

Can anyone help me on the removal of the pass. Side cv axle? It broke in half in an accident. How do I remove the axle from the transmission? It's removed from the wheel hub but it won't budge from the transmission.

where did it break? The passenger side axle has a support bearing. You need to unbolt the bearing and the axle should simply slide out of the transmission side.
here is a picture of the transmission side of the axle

Got it out. The bearing was stuck in its housing. Banged it around a bit after I found a video showing how easy it was. Wasn't sure if inwa s missing something. Thanks for the reply. Got the notification right after I pulled it out the tranny. Got the new one coming in today. I'll post a couple more pics. It's heart breaking.

It actually does not look broken, you have the inner cv joint separation. You must have busted up the control arm or lower ball joint for the axle to come out like that.

You can probably even rebuild it with a new Inner CV joint kit. I hope you are getting a Nissan half shaft. I absolutely hate aftermarket and refuse to use them. I would rather rebuild the OE parts 10 times out of 10.

Holly sh*t, axle is the least of your worries here, how in the world are you going to rebuild the body. It lost all structural integrity.

That aside, confirms my diag, LCA is busted, which pulled the inner cv joint apart.
Look at the inner tie rod.... sad sad sad

One from oreilly is 60 bucks. If i have issues I'll just go with a factory. Or I'll keep this one nd rebuild it. Sucks the control arm won't be for another week or so.

Only part of the dram that is damaged is the A-pillar. Gonna use a ram to straighten it out. Turning it into a track car. After insurance ****ing me on it I figure I might as well get something out of it

If you have an issue with Insurance company payout, I suggest getting a lawyer or something, I have had luck negotiating total loss payout.
With CVT tranny, its not much of a track car. From the few pics, it looks a gigantic mess, but its your money. Good luck.

I know it's not the best for a track car but I figure I could have some fun with it without putting too much money into it.

Removal passenger cv axle

I’m having similar difficulty with removal of my 2010 maxima passenger cv axle. The axle seems to be froze in the bracket carrier/bearing mount. I’ve removed the 3 bolts and pulled on the axle enough times that the outer axle came disconnected from inner boot. Is those three bolts all that holds the bracket on? I can’t find a diagram or an accurate maxima diy ( lots of Altima and rogues and I am sure the process is similar but not sure if I am missing a step) I have pb blaster soaked the bracket, banged on the bracket, the axle, the inner axle near the transmission, attempted to pry/chisel at the axle flange and bracket but I am having no luck. I am attempting a slide hammer this evening but not sure I will be able to get the right force application on the bracket. Any other pointers or tips?

email me directly. Trevormoldovan93@gmail.com. I'm not nearby the car at the moment but I'm thinking that's it. If I remember correctly mine took quite a bit of force to come out.

Be careful with the seals when removing and reinstalling the axle or you will have to pull them again to replace the leaking seal!

Unfortunately, the support bearing typically gets stuck in the support bearing housing. If you are replacing the entire axle, you can try to hammer the bearing from center of the car toward passenger side, with enough frustration, it will eventually come out.
Another alternative is to remove the axle with support bearing as one piece. I can't remember if thats feasible on Maxima, I think I did it on Altima before.
