Yes, I know I did something beyond dumb. A tiny hair clip slipped on black rubber in gear shifter selection. I tried to get it and went under plastic chrome plastic. I felt the shifter obstructed when I put in park.
Do I have to remove cup holder, **** and pin on gear shifter and all plastic to get underneath gear shifter?
Clearly, I will not attempt myself. But is that only way to get under gear shifter console?
I know, I should have put in drive w ebrake on, to have bigger space to retrieve.

I checked out you tube and they removed coffee cup holder and all surrounding plastic; just to get to under gear shift assembly

I did it the other day slde down the plastic ring at the base of the shifter pop the metal ring off and pull of the shifter
I used a small flat screwdriver to pop off the plastic it's easy.
