Nissan 2010 maxima S CVT

New to this group FYI.

Im looking to buy a 2010 maxima S CVT. It will be my first Nissan (always wanted a 370z lol).
I just wanted some info about this model and the overall quality. This maxima has just over 61k miles.
Since I've never owned a maxima or Nissan in general what is the maintance cost in general? What is the overall quality? What is the cost when I have to have the timing belt replaced or can it be done from a DIYer? Well I try to be DIY. I get there will be issues with cars, but does the Nissan maxima has particular pain in the butt issues that are known issues? Or costly issues I should be aware about?
Any other info would be great.
currently I drive a 1998 Saturn SC 1. The only major work was, the clutch back in 2006. So far it has served me well for what it is. I have 290k miles on it.
I hope this maxima, well if it's not sold, will serve me well.
What is the difference between the S model Vs the SV?
thanks.

I have a 2010 SV for 2 years now with 114,000 miles and have had no problems besides a wheel bearing, The Nissan Maxima of that generation is trial and error some people have the cars going to 200K and some not so lucky, For what I've read and heard the CVT's on those cars give out at any given time with out warning. The 2010 has an extended warranty of 120,000 miles or 10 years on the CVT.

That's a low mileage find for sure!

the CVT going out anytime is scary. It is low mileage car for sure. And priced at under 9k.
it's something to think about

I have a 2009 SV Sport and not one problem in its lifetime of 80K miles. Just make sure you change the CVT fluid as you are due. As for your concern about the CVT going out at any time, you can apply that phrase to any part in any vehicle. These vehicles do not have timing belts, but have timing chains that do not need replacing like a belt. The only maintenance I have done it routine fluid changes, battery change, and tire change. No brakes, wheel bearings, alternators or pump failures, extremely dependable.

thanks for the feedback. It's good that Nissan uses a timing chain instead of a regular belt.

Mileage seems good... Check the car for paint work.. Don't rely on Carfax or Autocheck.. Look for service records and how may previous owners its had. Look for turned bolts and and check for flood... Its easy to spot if you know how to look.... Always check the frame..
