My 2012 maxima build thread
Installed all my lights today, and I must say I’m very impressed with the morimoto 5500k HID system. The light output is amazing. The oem projectors are pretty good too. Nice clean sharp cutoff line. The Morimoto xb led fog lights are ok. Nothing to write home about. I do the fact that the fogs are not super bright. Give off the right amount of light.
I replaced the entire fog light lamp. Towards the beginning of this thread you can see the lamp before it was installed. Those are morimoto xb LED fog lamps. Got them from the retrofitsource.com The yellow is just lamin-x film over the fog. Got those because they literally last thousands of hours if installed properly. Wasn’t trying to get under the car once a year to swap out bulbs. Plus they require no adjustments whatsoever. Since they are LED,they have a perfect cutoff line and won’t blind incoming drivers.
Jeez, the way I just sold that,I should get free shizz from morimoto
As far as your car,do not get LED headlight bulbs. I had them on my 08 max. And while they looked amazing, they were absolute crap when it came to actual vision at night. They simply aren’t bright enough. Look at all the new cars that are on the market nowadays that have LED headlamps. The lamps have multiple led lights. Acura’s have at least (4) in each lamp. If your serious about being able to see,the no LED. I work at night so I needed good lighting. Swapped my halogens for quality HID and absolutely love em

Just installed BEAMTECH LED's on my 2011, Headlights, low beam, this brand does not need additional encoder, they work great. Only drawback results in the
'Light On' signal warning does not actuate when light are left on.

With the quality of roads in NY(and the general attitude of drivers around) you'd destroy your suspension on a yearly bases, given the maxima suspension isn't the most durable.
i feel sorry for any maxima having to live on NY roads.

NY roads are trash. NYC is even worse. I’m glad I don’t live in the city. You might destroy your suspension on a yearly basis if you drive like a complete moron and don’t pay attention to the roads. I’ve had my car almost a year and half and have put a lil over 8k miles on it. I try to keep the miles low now. Especially during these winter months. Try to prolong the life of the car in all aspects.
Hey y’all. It’s been over a year since I’ve posted anything on here. I still have the max, just haven’t added any goodies due to my wife and I buying a house. The max was out on indefinite hold. I’ll post a few pics of ol Maximus tho
Yeah I gotta get to mine sooner than later, it isn't making any noise or anything but I noticed it all wet on my control arm and axle boot. My concern is the aftermarket axles are junk, so I been doing a lot of research on what's the best aftermarket brand for reliability.
