Motor and Tranny Mounts Shot

this generation takes 5 engine mounts and 1 tranny mount. So far I’ve replaced All except for mount by firewall.

Am at 150K miles and my mount removed was just like this in the video (watch first minute of video)

tranny mount (driver side wheel) took about 15 minutes
front by radiator took about 4 hours
two on top by coolant took about 30 minutes
one by passenger wheel took about 30 minutes.

Sont be be surprised if you also need mounts.

Ebay cost varies and under $150 for all

planning firewall mount surgery within two weeks.

Must jack up engine/tranny to replace any mount

I've had mounts go bad in prior cars...but what symptoms were you experiencing? Was it obvious?

I was experiencing severe torque steering and even thoug they weren’t the culprit, the shop pointed out that they were bad / going bad. Inexpensive on eBay and somewhat easy to replace.

Power brake (foot on brake and feather gas in drive and reverse).
Have someone watch how much movement exhibited by the engine. I have a lot of movement so I decided to replace all of them.

Tranny, and hydraulic mounts weren’t shot, but why not since replacing all.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Anyone replace the engine mount by the firewall? And if so do you remove it from top of engine, or from the bottom by the subframe?

I would love to start the surgery.

did you had any noises when the front mount was bad (that one between radiator and engine)? like a rattling sound when road was bad?

What I understand is the back motor mount requires the engine to be suspended and the subframe and mount bar needs to be removed. As well as the y pipe removed. No thanks. I had a shop do that. IF I had infinite time and a cherry picker I would have given it a go. Its my DD and I needed it back in 24 hrs.
