Noob question: Will a K&N Cold Air Intake add performance?

Need advice on whether I should get a cold air intake for my 2014 maxima to help with performance?

Just a little bit of researching would yield the results that a cold air intake does little to nothing in regained a to performance for our cars. The most you’ll get is a more aggressive sound when you get on the throttle along with the fear of puddles when driving in the rain.

The price of these “cold air intakes” doesn’t really outweigh the performance. Just not worth it.

Yea he but why waste money getting a tune after a simple intake install. You’d spend about 400-500 bucks on a baseline tune, about 250 on a k&n (maybe more maybe less). All that money to gain VERY little numbers. Simply not worth it

Get a K&N drop in filter and you will have better airflow and over time you can clean the filter more frequently and it costs you near nothing. They pay for themselves after about 50-70,000 miles when compared with a standard filter. But the fact that you can clean it at more frequent interval then you would change a filter, it's nice.

That said, zero performance gain, but the good thing is the drop-in doesn't reduce performance. HOWEVER, if you over oil the filter you can cause sensor problems...so don't do that!
