Dash light on

Hi all
My wife just called to tell me that a dash light is on and it's the one with a car and a key symbol, Does anyone know why this is on or what may have triggered it?
Thank you

The security system is on and it may not let you start the car soon. I had that light in for 2 days and it wouldn’t go away, disconnect the battery for 15 mins and let the computer reset itself. That did the trick for me.

Do you suggest I bring it to the dealer?

From the owners manual

Security indicator light
The security indicator light blinks whenever the ignition switch is placed in the OFF, LOCK or ACC position. This function indicates the NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System is operational. If the NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System is malfunctioning, the light will remain on while the ignition switch is placed in the ON position. If the light still remains on and/or the engine will not start, see a NISSAN dealer for NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System service as soon as possible. Please bring all registered keys that you have when visiting your NISSAN dealer for service.

Thank you! I'm going to keep an eye on it and check it out when my wife gets home. I appreciate the info..

I called the dealer to ask about it and they wanted 125$ diagnostic fee plus whatever repairs were needed. I searched here and someone mentioned the issue and the battery disconnect trick and it worked for me.
