Blinking SES

Hey I just bought a 2009 maxima two weeks ago, about a week ago it started sputtering around 1500-3000rpm, finally had the place look at it and they said it was a bad ignition coil. He couldn't fix it for a couple days. He said I was fine to drive it until then.
Now the SES is blinking and its starting to sputter in same rpm but in higher gears and i will drop rpm and power as well in higher speeds. Question, am I safe driving this thing back to the place (30 mi) give or take.

I wouldn't drive with a bad ignition coil, it causes your car to misfire and stall as well as damage your catalytic converter in worst case scenario. Do you have a garage close by that can look at it or maybe have it towed to be on the safe side?

i would prefer to bring it to his shop just because he is buying the parts and doing the labor at his shop since i just bought the car. So I really didnt want to tow it, Im just reading that it could "start a fire"...how likely is that.

As MaximusN8 stated, you'll ruin your cats, plus you'd better go with a Nissan ignition coil.
