Overpaid for strut replacement 2011 Maxima

So I need some opinions because I believe I just overpaid to replace my front struts in my 2011 Maxima SV Sport. So Just a little over a week ago, I had my front struts and sway links replaced at some auto shop because the ride became aggressive and the steering began to jerk a little and they charge me a little over $1,000 dollars. I now have the car back and I don't feel like it drives much different at all. It does not jerk as much but I can feel every little bump, sewer hole, or crack that my car drives over. This shop used these struts but charged me $305.00 per strut https://www.homedepot.com/p/FCS-Auto...426R/308011032
Does anyone know if they're returnable by law? Any suggestions on where to go from here?

No, not Home Depot struts, but like Walmart, Costco, etc ... you can buy absolutely everything through Home Depot and it’s retail partners.

Learn a lesson from now on and never go to a random shop.
The job should have been topped 500 to 700
You buy your own parts and negotiate labor before hand.
Shop can now argue up and down that nothing is wrong with the parts or labor. You don't have much to do, sorry.

According to ProDemand, Flat Rate time to do both front struts is 3.5 hours, sway bar end links 0.6 hours, and $305.00 per strut will come out to about $1000 with taxes. If anything, ask for a discount on the part since its a almost 300% mark up, if the part they bought is exactly that homedepot brand. I'm surprised they didn't do alignment since suspension components were R&R'd.

VeeQue35DE offered great advise. The reality is you didn't pay that much over a normal job, you basically paid full retail for something that with the right negotiations you might have gotten it down a little lower. And as he noted, your best bet here is to get them to 2 things. #1, make sure they warranty their work, if the ride isn't great, bring it back with a smile and ask them to road test it with you in the car. Then discuss options as to what might be the reason for the rough ride. Could be the struts are just too stiff, then #2 somewhere in discussions you should bring up that 300% markup is considerably more stiff then the current ride, and you'd like to get some of that back.

One other thing to note, they likely replaced some other parts too, like the strut tower has a bearing plate, some bushings a few other things, it's also possible they had put on those parts and just listed it as part of the strut assembly. Again, go back with a smile let them know that you're unsure about things, and see how that works itself out.

That part number above is not for a sport model.

Quick struts should take an hour.

Did you get an alignment?

Does your bill have a break down of services?

A detailed quote beforehand would have been a good idea.
