Monroe Struts

I'm planning to replace my front struts on my 09 maxima, I was comparing prices and I went to rock auto and they are damn cheap (monroe quick strut), is rock auto a good source to buy them? are they genuine? I have never order anything from them.

Rock Auto is an excellent company. I would question your choice of product. If I replace any suspension parts on my 09 SV is will be only OEM parts. Do a search on this site and you will get plenty of opinions.

I replaced mine with monroe sruts, but NOT the quickstrut ( reused the oem springs) The quickstrut is a relatively new variant (read it didn't exist for the 7th gen a few years ago when I changed mine!!) If you go with the quickstruts, I would be i interested in how they work. I too got mine from RockAuto.

I'd reuse the factory spring coil (if not severely worn), and would trust OEM mounts rather than some aftermarket ones.

I replaced my shocks/struts with the Monroe Quickstrut in my garage. I did it while in there replacing an exle shaft that had a torn boot (did the other side too). Afterward, I had a shop align it. The Monroe Quickstruts work fine. I've had them in about 7000 miles now.

Excessive bouncing on deep pot holes and bumps.
If mileage is less than 150k it's likely spring coils have some life left in them.

I have used them, I would avoid them. over rough bumps it feels like you're ramming a curb, it's super loud at first, but it does get better with time. I should have gone for the OE Spectrum and just paid more to reuse the factory springs over these.

I'm not sure if it's the mounts, springs or struts themselves that cause the noise / harshness.

If LtLeary is ok with his 440k miles springs, then reuse yours.
I can't trust chinese springs if you ask me (unless you get new Nissan springs).

I’ll re use them then, they look pretty decent to me but I don’t know much about it.

I used Monroe struts...just not the quick strut. NOTE: You will need a PAIR of spring compressors to remove the old springs (Rather, I couldn't compress them enough with just one pair)

Good advise, thank you..
SACHS are supposed to be the OEM right? they are cheaper on RockAuto but not sure if they are a good option, compared to the monroe ones that seems like everyone uses, little bit more money, but not a big of a difference, I just want a nice ride with a decent strut quality.

hmm interesting because I just bought some monroe struts 272605 front for my maxima. And it sound loud as well when I hit a bump. So it will get better over time?

It is either less loud, OR i got used to it, I'm not entirely sure which is true here, but either way it's still worse than the OEM with 110k on them
