09 having a idle issue

So the car has no lights on, cold start the rpms stay at 1,000/1,100 and will stay there. If you hit the brake pedal that’s when they will drop to around 600 but will not go there unless you touch the brake pedal. Don’t understand what causes that and can’t find anything about it

To OP: Please forgive us our bit of fun but we are really trying to say in our sophomoric way is you don't have a problem. This is normal in our computerized cars. The brake signal is another input to the computer. You would probably get the same idle response if you touched the accelerator. As you mention, this only occurs on cold starts so between the water temp, ambient temp, and a few other sensors, this is just another input saying "my driver is ready to go"

Eh, my bad, just playing

More info would certainly help, though. If this is a change in condition then certainly understandable that you would notice and think there was an issue, after all, you're the one driving the car every day. When did this start? Was any work done recently? What's the car's history, condition, etc.. Is the car up to temp when this happens, or is it still cold? Help us help you!

So I noticed this because it doesn’t do it in my car I have a 10 and it’s doing it on my girls car she has a 09 an it started it two weeks before I made the post. Still doing it every morning you start the car revs out to 1,200 rpm and stay there I watched it for a few minutes an couldn’t anymore so I touched the brake pedal an it went down to 600/700. I start my car it will go up to 1,100 but it goes down by itself like it normally should. No lights or codes, nothing but regular maintenance with her car so I can’t figure out the reason for it

That is indeed odd. I'm not sure I have an answer for you, and that's the first time I've ever heard of such behavior.
