Brake and battery light flickering

Hey guys, have a 09 SV with 103k miles, recently when i start the engine i get the brake and battery light on the dashboard, battery is 650cca and less than 2 months old, she fires right up, i have a load tester and with the engine cold i get a reading of 12.3v , with engine running im getting 15.1v on my tester the needle is at the end where it says "charging system ok", i checked the positive and negative cables and they are making good connection, any other parts i should check?, today im going to call autzone and ask if they test alternators while in the car just to get a 2nd opinion. I have a mechanic appt tomorrow and would like to avoid paying $60 .

It's more than likely your alternator. I have a 09 and this happened to me last year. It was actually the wiring from the alternator that was going bad on my but I replaced that and alternator as well. no more issue. It's a spendy job though.

Agree with other member. Brake + battery light = alternator issue. Get it taken care of before it totally fails and your car will go in limp mode with almost no power. Tip - get a new alternator not a remanufacture one. Fail rate on remanufactured ones is high and you end up replacing it again 6 months later.

Mine didn't last a week and I had to have it replaced twice. Make sure you get an OE alternator.
