2012 Maxima Ignition Issues
2012 Maxima Ignition Issues
Hello,
first time posting here.I have a 2012 Nissan Maxima S with a push start ignition. If the car has been sitting a while (like over night) it starts up no problem, even in 20 degree weather. If I drive it for 10 minutes to run errands and turn the car off, the car will not restart immediately. Sometimes I have to push the ignition start 20+ times which could take 5 minutes to get it running again. I swapped the battery with a new one out last week but the issue remains.
The push button cycles through off - acc - start without issue. I hear a click when I hold the ignition in to start the car but that’s it. I even tried putting the key fob in the key slot and that does not help. Any thoughts?
thanks for your help

As I understand your post, car works great cold, not so great warm...Ok what happens when things get warm, they expand, and when cold they contract. I'm thinking starter wiring or connections a good place to start looking. Also take some voltage readings at the starter when the engine is hot. Low voltage or bad ground will keep the starter from turning over.
