Welcome
Did You check the Fuse in the IPDM for the ac Compressor.? often times the old Compressor can take out the fuse when it fails electronically.
Hook up a scan tool if you have access to one, You need to verify that you have a/c request via its data function from the control head.
I usually start by tracking the Circuit backwards from the Compressor. Verify power and ground here and follow it back Via the FSM untill you Find the problem..
It could be that there is something wrong with New Said Compressor if the engine is shutting down. Is it Locked Up..?

Ac
There is a white wire that carries power from the control unit to the AC compressor,
check that wire for power. Remove the fuse box cover under the hood. If that line has power then you have power going to the compressor. Your problem is at the compressor.
Check the fuse as well as, previously stated!
