2012 Maxima SV - speed sensitive steering quesrion

Hi everyone.

I just did some repairs to the max. I replaced the passenger side lower control arm (torn boot), steering rack and pinion (leaking), top motor mount (torn rubber) and replaced the belt.

I also had the two tires up front replaced due to some wear, along with a full wheel alignment. rear tire are really good.

Im running 245/35/20 and 275/30/20. I’ve never had any issue with this set up and most of the issues came when I did all the work up above.

Now the problem is, when I’m at highway speed, and I let off the gas, the car steering wheel pulls to the left and when I give it gas the wheel pulls to the other side. When either of those things happen, I start to correct the steering and then it feels like it’s a battle going back n forth to get it straight. Steering wheel is tight and solid otherwise.

I did a search and most of the answers are pointing towards the 20” tires, RSA brand tires or it’s normal because the car has speed sensitive steering sensor..

Any advice ?

Do you think the engine torque mount (the top engine mount) could be the issue? I tried to get the bolts lined up but it was tough. I had the motor jacked up and then tried to lower raise the motor to line up the bolts etc… not sure why but it was a little difficult.

maybe I’ll try and re-do that tomorrow…

Did you ever find out the issue and fix it?

If you noticed he replaced only 1 LCA.

always “replace in pairs”…. That, I believe is his problem.

Any update? I am having the same issue but I did replace both LCA, tires, alignments, power steering rack, and tie-end rods.
