Need help
My 2010 maxima is having blue smoke on cold starts. Also noticed occasionally it will smoke going in curves like offan exit ramp or a sharp turn. What in the world could this be. No signs of oil leaking on the ground but you can smell the oil burning.

couldn’t paste link from “nissanforums.com” but I copied this:
“…….A good way to test for oil burning is to first fully warm up the engine. Stand behind the car. Have someone rev the motor to 4,000 RPM and hold at that RPM for about 15 seconds. If you see a lot of blue smoke come out of the tailpipe, the engine is burning excessive oil. If it's only white smoke, then there may be a blown head gasket causing the coolant to vaporize and blow out as white smoke. Determine if you're losing coolant in the radiator………”

Blue smoke is oil. On startup it means there is oil leaking into the cylinder when off and burns when started. If you're off throttle and get blue smoke same deal oil is leaking into the cylinder. Both of these are valve seal issues. I had 185 K on my 2012 and did not have this issue. I did have other issues.
