Hello. I need help in identifying what is causing a rubbing noise. It is not a high frequency noise and also not a loud banging noise. The noise is faint when going straight at low speed and gets louder when turn right. The noise goes away when turn left. And the car also pulls the left. I did check all four wheels by rocking them in a cross pattern and there is no play so the bearing should be good. Also no torn boots or leaking suspension. I do plan on bringing it to the mechanic but would feel more comfortable by knowing what’s the issue ahead of time. Thanks

 

Your left front wheel bearing needs to be replaced.

 

Sounds like wheel bearing to me as well, droned humm that gets worse with speed and goes away when you turn one direction but gets worse when you turn the other way is often wheel bearing. Best to put it on a lift and use a mechanics stethoscope to diagnose what side is bad, there's a saying where if you make a right turn and the noise gets worse, it's your left bearing because it's getting louder with more force pushed on it and it's generally correct but I had a truck where the noise went away on sharp right turns and it was still the left front bearing that was bad lol
