New here, looking for advice

I bought a 2010 maxima, model S last year at 170K miles for $500. I had new catalytics installed immediately to remove a DTC that was showing up on my scanner.

I did a tune-up that included new oil, filters, spark plugs, replaced vacuum tubes, PCV, valve covers, serp belt, drained and refilled coolant and brake fluid.

I didn’t touch the transmission.

im wondering if I should change the transmission filter and or fluid; I don’t know the history of the car, so it’s posible it’s never been changed.

im close to 192k miles now and dont feel any difficulty shifting (which is kinda why i left it alone) but still am curious if i could change it to extend the life of the car

Check the CVT fluid.

Things to note.
What color is the CVT fluid.
Is the CVT fluid clean. No sediment or other.

Have a heavy duty transmission cooler installed. That will prolong the life of the CVT.

Also. Invest in an OBDII port plug in scanner and
and the CVTZ50 App.

Together they will keep you up to date
On the status of your CVT.

Consider yourself blessed.
You have 198grr on your Maxima and no CVT problems.

Not sure how to check the fluid or what color it should be but thanks for heads up; I’m going to find some more info on here.

I’ll start to work on the rest.

some more things I’m curious about:

Should I get new calipers or attempt to replace the dust boots(they are falling apart)?

What things should I check I make sure I can make this car last without having to take apart the entire engine?

I’ve been told that it doesn’t hurt to try and clean fuel injectors but my car isn’t misfiring so I’m wondering if an attempt at cleaning them will do more harm than good. I say this because I tried a transmission flush on a 2002 Honda accord at 100K miles, and I ruined the tranny causing slips does it work the same?

is it normal to see oil around the gasket between the air intake manifold and the intake valves? What does it mean if there is spot of oil there?

I also noticed that my the plastic tubing that covers my wiring harness is falling apart close to the exhaust manifold, should I get that fixed?

Thank you for all the help!
