Pulled to trigger on a Morimoto Elite HID Kit
After 7 years of driving the divorce car (2007 Honda Accord), I'm back in the drivers seat. 2011 Maxima SV 33K miles. Great to be back!
I read ALL the HID thread (21 pages) and decided on the Morimoto Elite 3Five system @6000K for low beams. Can't wait for the kit to arrive!
I have skulking the 7th generation board since Monday when I bought the car and see ALOT of useful information.
I'm also THINKING of modding some h9 bulbs for the fogs. Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated, from what I'v seen the H9 65W draw is acceptable for the H11 sockets.
Also THINKING of getting yellow H9 bulbs for the fogs, Think this would look goofy? opinions welcome.
Thanks for all the great information and advice contained in this forum!

This is what I did to my fogs and they have held up great. Hard to beat a $18 yellow overlay kit.

I think yellow fog lights would look great. I'm considering these.

Only thing is fog lamps are pretty useless unless you are actually driving, slowly, in fog.

Wouldn't you just be better off using the $18 toward some good quailty yellow bulbs instead? Seems like the OEM ones are not very good.

The Morimoto kit arrives today, but won't have time to do the install tonight, Tuesday for sure.
I went with piaa yellow fogs on my 5th generation Maxima, but never had much luck with them. Tended to burn out after a couple of months. Now I'm thinking I'll wait to see how the Morimoto 6000K's look and then decide to match the fogs with another H11 6000K kit or go the yellow fog route.
Now trying to make up my mind on a CAI. Any suggestions?
hid fogs
good choice with the morimotos for the headlights. my 2010 came with stock hid's so I opted out and bit the bullet and purchased the 6k Phillips bulbs for mine. redoing the headlights so waiting to put those in. but for the fogs I just got a ebay kit. had them in for 6 months already and they are awesome. no issues at all. couldn't see spending 150+ for a hid kit for the fogs. also got them in 55w so they are bright as hell.
Completed the install, took about 3 hours, half of which was head scratching trying to determine where to put the ballasts and relays. The 3Five ballasts had mounting brackets, so I decided to hard mount them. Didn't take the wheels off, just removed (3) bumper screws and (4) push in connectors holding the front of the fender splash guard. My only confusion was that the Relay harness had only one signal input. A quick call to TheRetrofitSource, got a quick answer. Only requires a single input (have to use the drivers side) due to the harness setup.
Absolutely love the 6000K output! no flicker.
pics not so good, apologies.
