2016 Max info from AUTOWEEK.
For infotainment and convenience features, the Maxima will offer NissanConnect with navigation as standard equipment piped in via an 8-inch touchscreen, with available Sirius XM with traffic. A part of the NissanConnect system will also be a 7-inch Advanced Drive Assist Display in the instrument cluster. Among standard features the Maxima will also offer a rear-view monitor, and a remote engine start feature.
The Maxima will go on sale in the U.S. in June, and will be offered in five trim levels: S, SV, SL, SR and Platinum. In base S trim the Maxima will start at $33,235, while the SV trim level will start at $35,215. The SL trim level will be available starting at $37,715, while the SR model will start at $38,495. The range-topping Platinum trim level, meanwhile, will be available starting at $40,685.

I'm sure that I am in the majority of people who would NEVER pay $40K+ for a Nissan as opposed to an Infiniti, Lexus or Bimmer for that price tag.
Really looking forward to a test drive, though.
Should be interesting to see what kind of rebates and dealer incentives are offered with the 8th gen.

Dudemaine - Keep in mind that, after the first mad rush of each generation, top level Maximas are generally available for $5K (often more) below MSRP. 2014 Maxima Premium with Tech (MSRP almost $40K) is now available for $31K at most Atlanta area Nissan dealers. My last two loaded Maximas (first model years of gens 6 and 7) had MSRPs right at $40K, but I paid below $35K for each one. My Infiniti dealer would not offer any discount close to this. Lexus is reliable, but I can't quite grab their image or styling. BMWs are not as reliable, and very expensive to fix.
This article said they would be available in JUNE. Also, after seeing 'summer or early fall' in several places in recent months, I have seen 'early summer' in two places this week. I am now hopeful this 8th gen will arrive at dealers in either late June or in July. I no longer think August or September are likely.

I had thought it might be September before my dealer would drop all the packs and get down to MSRP, and October or November before he would even look at my offer, which builds up from invoice instead of down from MSRP. But, based on what you are saying, the cars may begin arriving sooner than I thought, and decent deals may be available sooner than I thought. I'm in a position that I don't have to squeeze the last drop from the turnip anyway. Might as well enjoy the new gen Maxima while I am still alive and kicking.

I would advise those who are very particular about color to be aware that the color swatches on the 'build' site don't all match the color shown on the car on that same site. I have my first four colors picked out, but am going to wait and see these cars in person before I submit my offer. I am lucky in that there are 23 Nissan dealers within a 1 1/2 hour drive of my home, including a large one four miles from my driveway, and I am retired. I will have no trouble getting a good look at these colors soon after the cars begin arriving. I enjoy those checkouts of the new generation Maximas so much. FAR better than Christmas.
Not at liberty to say! I just like to share in the excitement of other Maxima enthusiast and see everyone's thoughts on the 8th gen. Plus many insider people have posted pictures on the net with their pre-built cars within the last 24 hrs.
I noticed that too when I built my SR model! I'm thinking a sunroof will be an option, just not moonroof. I wonder if the glass roof will be an option.
I will say I'm surprised at the pricing. I expected much higher (hope those are actual prices).
No moonroof on the SR model...at all. The A34 Sport model had a standard size (i.e. non-panoramic) unit, in fact, ALL A34s came standard with a moonroof, only the Premium had the upgraded panoramic unit, but this time around it's either no moonroof (S, SV and SR) or the panoramic unit (SL and Platinum). For MY2016 there are NO OPTION PACKAGES on ANY of the five trim levels. You get what you get with an S, SV, SL, SR or Platinum. That means no paddle shifters or 19s on a Platinum, no Around-View Monitor on an SR, no LED Low beams on an SL etc...
I can't imagine them not offering a sunroof on the SR, but the moonroof is more of a luxury thing, so make sense that it would be on the Platinum.

According to some stuff I'm reading looks possible for year 1 they won't have the option. in which case i wouldn't buy till 2017. but then again until they hit the lots how do we really know?
Read what Brudda wrote above. There are NO OPTIONS on any of the models. You can accessorize (spoiler, floor mats, etc.), but no options.

I'm curious about this too. I have a feeling its gonna take 6 mos to a year before we see serious incentives. I think they are banking on fact it will be hot for a while then when it cools down they will do the incentive thing. I wonder how our current 7th gens resale will fair with a new model out or what nissan will do to get us to trade ours in.

The 7th gen is still an attractive and desirable vehicle, and I receive trade-in offers from local dealers several times each month. In fact, there are those posters here on the ORG that actually prefer the 7th gen styling. My trade-in value is always very good because my Maxima has been garaged, never red-lined, is very clean, has no scratches or dings, has low mileage, new tires, and has had all recommended premium level maintenance service done by my dealer. I have always received well above book value for my trade-ins. That really helps at trade-in time.
Over the years, I have found that the Nissan dealers around my area add several thousand bucks in 'packs' on top of the MSRP the first month or two after a new generation arrives, then gradually begin talking deals. Being very close to the folks at my dealership may help me a little early on.
I should admit that, although I know many folks at my dealership, when it comes time to buy, I have dealt only with the dealer's internet manager for the last 16 years, and only by email. I do know her, and we chat in person sometimes, but buying a car is all business. I submit my detailed offer on a specific car on their lot, and she either accepts or rejects it. If rejected, I simply wait a month or so and submit another offer. My dealership seems to be more 'helpful' with folks they know will be using them for all service, including tires and batteries.

It's going to be quite busy for Nissan with the 8th gen and some anticipated "styling" to the Altimas...plus the Titan in December and maybe the Sentra may have a long awaited "cousin" next yr... Until then, we watch and wait.
I am hearing positive things about the new Titan. I am also seeing several variations of those commercial-type 'NV' vehicles from the Canton MS plant around town. I used to know all Datsun/Nissan vehicles, but I can't keep up these days. So I stick with the Maxima. I have owned nothing but Maximas since I gave up my Datsun 200SX for an '85 Maxima in October 1984. I have owned every generation but the first, and I carpooled in a 1st gen Maxima (the diesel version) in the early 1980s.

4 year wait, hopefully people are still interested in it. Especially with all these crazy compacts coming out, anything less than 250hp might not be enough.
Waiting to place my order.... (hopefully it comes in red)
Red should be a mandatory option on such a vehicle. I also think burnt orange would look good on such a vehicle. I call that Nissan burnt orange 'Z' orange, because I first became familiar with it on those 240Zs of the early 1970s. It was also used briefly as an 'intro' color on the 2004 6th gen Maximas.
Not a problem
I love a lot of excitement.. keep us all straight.. LOL..
