8th Gen Coupe

If this ever came to be, they would sell one to me! I really like the look of the Max as a coupe!... But it will never happen to the 4DSC.

You are right, they are crossover nows, but they are different that a wagon.

There was that wagon fad, the magnum, cts, e-class. Pretty sure the benz is the only one being made still. I rarely see wagons anymore. Still see some overseas, but in US, they have died out. Wagons were never popular enough.

Wagons were popular back in the 1930s and 1940s (usually with wooden sides and called 'Woodies'), and I saw them everywhere at that time. They were still common in the 1950s and 1960s. But the last wagon I really liked was the gen 2.5 ('87 and '88) Maxima wagon, and I still see those on the road today.

About a month ago, I saw where some major manufacturer was coming out with a wagon this fall, but I don't remember who, because I'm no longer interested in wagons.

I think most manufactures, at least German ones, refer to them as "Shooting Brakes".

Yes and no. Germans typically refer to wagons (4 doors plus a hatch) as "Estates". The term "Shooting-break" is generally used when describing a sporty two-door with a station wagon profile to its rear hatchback e.g. the E36/8 BMW Z3 M Coupe or the Ferrari FF, the Volvo C30 came close as well.

Thing is, with all of these manufacturing building these so-called "4 door coupes" nowadays, they've begun attaching the term "shooting-brake" to anything with a hatch and an aggressive roofline e.g. the CLS Shooting-break, even though said vehicle isn't a shooting-break according to the original definition, much like the CLS isn't a "coupe" according to the original definition either.
