Loose Sides of Rear Seats?

I noticed that the side seat cushions/inserts on the edges of the rear fold down seats were really lose when I yanked the string in the trunk. I couldn't fit them back in place. Is that normal or did I do that?

Not on my car but the floor demo.

It could be an early production issue. I noticed problems when the current Fusion came out. It might take time for the factories to get into their stride.

If it is that common, I would bet Nissan will be doing something about this fairly soon. The worst thing is to have a problem that seems to be only on one car. Nissan may never even look at that situation, leaving it to the dealer to conjure up a fix.

The dealer made it seem it was to allow for some "give" in case of side bags deploying (whatever!). I'll take some better pics and/or even a video in a bit and post it up.

Pics. Now don't get me wrong I have to tug at it a bit but not with a ton of force to make this happen

Yeah, I would say that's pretty loose and NOT supposed to happen.
I would phone Nissan NA and complain a bit. The more people that phone in with the same related issue the fast it should get fixed all around. I wouldn't be surprised to see a TSB for the seats.

I agree, I have never seen the sides that loose on any car.
