How often do you drive in Sport Mode? I'm about 50/50 or more. I tend to like the heavier feel of the steering and the touchy gas pedal. I wish if I cut it off in Sport Mode it would stay in sport mode as opposed to defaulting to Normal. I probably wouldn't ever take it out then.

I haven't put mine in sport yet. Im waiting to hit 1000 miles or so, although Im sure it doesn't even make a difference as far as break in is concerned. I just know that Ill want to push it when the sport mode hits =D

i drive it in sport mode 90% of the time, but i'm finding that sometimes this isn't ideal, as it winds out the "fake" gears longer than they need to go at times and just burns fuel. i'm averaging 18 mpg in my SR, lol.

and what is this "break-in period" that you speak of? that is foreign to me.

18 mpg! Snap. Man, you must be in the throttle all the time! I'm hitting 25 mpg, but in slow, 2 Lane road traffic to my work. No freeway time to hit it.

Most of my commute is freeway driving, but there's also a ton of traffic, so if I see an opening, I gun it. This basically means I'm driving in the most fuel-inefficient manner possible lol.

That engine sound when you get into it just makes it worse. You want to stomp it more! Especially in sport mode when the engine sound is "enhanced". Most fun sedan I've ever owned.

I would say 75%+ or anytime I remember to hit sport mode. I like the tighter feel of the steering even if it’s mostly in my head 🤷🏽‍♂️. But agree about that the rpm revs but mainly if I step on it and have to brake instantly after pressing gas.

If you keep driving it like a sports car vs a luxury sedan, the Tran could fail you quicker…

I’ve tried it only 3 times, and premium gas not easy here in Maryland

Take it from a mechanical engineer (pats self on back): Yes, sport mode will wear out your car faster. Period. Everything spins faster for a longer period of time, so why wouldn't it? You can easily feel this when you drive in sport mode.
That being said, I use it at least 60% of the time and have 164K miles. I guess I don't care-I want to enjoy the car. I guess I've been lucky (so far). How long will it last? Who knows...my last car was an '07 Altima 3.5SE that "died" at 170K miles (CVT and variable valve timing gave out).

My 2017 has always drank regular fuel, I've never had a need to go sport cuz I don't really see a difference, and she scats anyway.

Sport delays fake shift vs regular mode. More revs and less mpg could mean more wear for no gain in performance. Great car as is w/o the cowboy driving.

I tend to use sport mode whenever i go through windy curves and i can push it a little bit so "the go" is there without having a drop in RPM's.

Interesting use of sport setting giving you at least an illusion of performance. Too bad we could not get a regular tranny on this otherwise great car.
