Window Rattle?

Have any of you guys experienced a window rattle from inside the cabin? The only reason I know it's a window rattle is because it took me forever to deduce it in my '11 M3 and now I'm super sensitive to it. It's coming from my left rear-passenger window.

My only fear is taking it to a service center and they making it worse by doing something else stupid.

I wouldn't worry about them making it worse, and if they do.... Don't stop bringing it until it's fixed

that and you'll be helping them to resolve real world issues that a new car is going to encounter thus keeping the brands r and d effective

Either they fix the rattle or you take it back until they do. This is a situation where they won't be involved in electronics, etc. The only 'collateral damage' you should need to watch for would be to the door trim or seats (both driver's and left rear). Mechanics occasionally have been known to sit on a seat with a sharp tool in their rear pocket or grease on their coveralls.

A well-run dealer's service shop should be safe. Over the years, I have never had my dealer's service department harm anything on my Maximas. But then I have seldom needed anything but routine service per the owner's manual maintenance schedule. My Maximas have always been very reliable.

This 8th gen has thousands of parts, and there will always be a few that give trouble early on in a completely redesigned vehicle. We are lucky in a way, because the Maxima is less prone to these glitches than most vehicles.

I've noticed the rattle at highway speeds, 50+. I'm only at 1400 miles so it's a little concerning

It's not something loud or unbearable just an annoyance when you have the radio off or listening to a show with more talk than music.
I'll bring it up when I go for my first servicing.

It may be minor, but if you are noticing this, it will always detract somewhat from your enjoyment and satisfaction with your vehicle. This is not a Yugo. You MUST INSIST (in a polite but firm way) that this be fixed. A rattle might not be out of the ordinary in a Chevy, etc, but this is a Maxima. A rattle is not acceptable in a new Maxima.

So I had the wife drive and realized it wasn't the window after all. It was the door panel portion below the arm rest on the left passenger door. Brought it in and they said it was the door handle cable was which was loose causing the noise. Fixed.

I am so glad you took it in, and even happier than it turned out to be a minor fix. Now you can enjoy the full pleasure this car will bring to your live.

My 2016 Maxima only has 1200 miles on it and I also hear the rattle at the driver's side rear door. I thought it was my imagination, but, as it turns out, I'm not crazy after all. I'm going to have them look at it during my first service.

Is the rattle for the 2016 Maxima? Is it the passenger side windshield? I have a 2016 SR and when its windy and I'm at over 65 MPH, it rattles like hell. It's driving me nuts. Dealership said they haven't heard it and to bring it back when it's windy.

I now have a rattle in the passenger side windshield that sounds more like an air leak. It chirps really loud at high speed with wind. I also have a rattle (when windy) in the column between the driver and driver side passenger door. It sounds like its the door seal flapping. Nissan dealership said to bring it back when its windy.

2016 Maxima Platinum

Yes, it's a 2016 Maxima. Still has the rattle. Of course, the rattle is never duplicated at the dealership. Have to wait until a wind storm, I guess. Dang!
