Storm Blue SR

Well, it says factory because some SRs come with it and some don't, but you can order it from any Nissan parts dept and the service dept will install it for you. Better to find one with it already installed though, as Nissan service will charge you labor, unless you can work it into the deal at the time of purchase.

I think this is called Interior Accent Lighting on the 8th gen. It is much brighter and more useful than the 'mood lighting' on my 7th gen Premium. The mood lighting had only a few tiny barely visible lights, but this Interior Accent Lighting has lots of very visible lights.
EDIT - As info, the mood lighting on the 7th gen was standard on some models, and may be standard on some or all 8th gens, but this new Interior Accent Lighting on the 8th gen is not standard on any model. It is a $250 factory installed option. Dealers may be able to install it, but I would imagine there would be considerable labor involved. For instance, another poster here had the Illuminated Kick Plates factory-installed option put in later by his dealer, and it was a 3 1/2 hour job involving opening up the dash, moving the radio and glove box, etc. Not an easy task.
This new Interior Accent Lighting is very special, and I seem to recall that it gives you control over the color you want them to be. I know it is an option I will have on my 8th gen, preferably factory-installed. Lots cheaper that way.

I was ready to buy the first week of June, but have not been able to find a silver Platinum with Splash Guards, Rocker Panel Molding, External Ground Lighting, Illuminated Kickplates and Interior Accent Lighting. I would accept one with or without Premium Spoiler, and either Cashmere or Charcoal interior.
I am now playing 'vulture' and check the dealer inventories every few nights. I will finally settle on one that is missing only a few things that I could have my dealer add at a decent price. Something like Illuminated Kickplates should already be on the car, as I understand it takes 3 1/2 hours labor and opening the dash, moving the radio and glovebox, etc, to install this once the car has left the assembly line.
My task is slightly muddled by the fact we happened to see a 'for sale' sign go up in front of our dream home June 29. We outbid the competition, and have spent many hours getting rid of a quarter century of accumulations and checking out our dream home. The previous tenants have removed ten tons of furniture and antiques already, and have more to go. Then we will replace the carpeted areas with hard flooring, replace two windows, re-key ten locks, gate in the breezeway, have all utilities and services transferred, etc, etc, and eventually move in this fall. Then we will begin the task of prepping and selling our current home and property. Quite a lot of work ahead.
The holdup Nissan has on the new Maxima will not deter me from proceeding as soon as I find the right car. I purchased my last three Maximas with no test drive, because I already know how they drive by reading every test drive posted here on the ORG. Also, two of those three had to be trucked in from other towns.
