My wife's current phone which is a prepaid phone will not receive calls in the new Maxima even though it did in the Altima. I was told today that it is not compatible.
If I change phones to one that is compatible and switch the Sim card can I use the phone to only make calls even if it is a smart phone without addition charges?

 

If you are sure the phone isn't sim-locked/carrier-locked (if it's a phone from a different carrier that is) then it will work no problem.

Did you enable bluetooth and set it up properly?

Why do you need another phone?

 

Went to service manager and they couldn't get it to receive calls either.They wrote it off as not compatible.

I had much better experts fail at this.But the phone worked fine with the 2014 Altima.Remember it was able to call out without a problem.

I have both, android and Iphone, by far the iphone was the hardess to figure out but it now works pretty good for my wife and my kids ipod touch, with the iphone, make sure no one around you have on any bluetooth devices, on or running, if so have them turn them off, of course turn on your bluetooth and the bluetooth on the car, go through the pairing process, let the car start the scan first, then start the phone to scan, if the car sees the device by name, at first, it will say something like unable to pair with device, if the car sees it by name, have some one keep calling the iphone, the car may see (your iphone), but you wont be able to answer it, it only rings to your phone, if this happens, and this is what happened to me, is at that time shut the car off, then shut the phone completely off, for 3 min then turn the car on, the power your phone back up, and go to the BT menus, and have someone call you, this is what worked for me now my wife can play her music and receive phone calls and have it read text sorry no facebook, but realize I stay in south GA and took a trip to TN and I literally hit all the buttons on this and yes it does have issues and most of the selections don't show until the car is stopped. Also on Androids you have to select it (the cars name) in the phone menus.

 

Come on Nissan, that is your compatibility list? Pathetic! If you have a GSM Moto X (ie AT&T or T-Mobile) it works but not the Verizon version same issues with the Nexus 6. Also no Samsung Galaxy S6 at all.

I am looking at the car and I am a Verizon customer and if my Moto X doesn't work. Deal breaker.
