18" Wheel Accessory

Am I missing something, or do you get taken advantage of a little when you opt for the 18" 2 tone wheel during the initial purchase? It's a $900 (pre negotiation) price tag, but no credit is given for the swap out of the stock wheels. At least when you buy the wheels post purchase, you have 4 stock wheels to sell.

It was part of my original deal. $900. It's up to them to return the stock wheels to Nissan. They are in, but I am still waiting for the rocker panels to get here before they install any of my accessories (They had to order 6 of them as the car only had 2 of the extras I wanted). And, I'm paying the internet listed price for all of them with zero installation charges. But it's been 5 weeks now, and I'm getting real sick of waiting!

What do you mean its up to them? Aren't they your wheels? Do you get a credit for the original rims? Otherwise it seems its better to buy them after the sale so you can sell the originals....

I paid the $900 (the accessory price if they come on the car originally) and they keep the original wheels.

I believe if you could buy them separately from Nissan, which I doubt you can, the cost would be substantially higher than 900. These are upgrade wheels over what comes stock.

Oh I see that makes sense. BTW, I saw these wheels today on a White Max, either an SL or a Platinum, the wheels really looked good with the black roof , pillars, and mirrors.

You are missing something. That is the cost if you switch those with the original wheels and the dealer keeps the originals. You are basically only paying the difference in the cost of the two wheels. If you were to buy the wheels completely separate they would be way more than $900. Most likely $3K or more.

For what it's worth, you can buy the optional 18s from any Nissan parts department for $950 (for 4). Without tires of course: http://parts.nissanusa.com/nissanpar...&catalogid=211

There you go, buy the car with stock wheels, then upgrade later and sell the originals. Doesn't make sense to buy accessory wheels during the ordering process.

When I bought my SR, I wanted the 19" black wheels. They had those on the car when I picked it up, and they sent the others home with me.

As it should be. Something to look out for during negotiations...
