Auto Driver Positioner not Remembering
Took my to the dealer last week to have them look into the seat memory problem. Told the dealer my memory seat never worked right from day one. They didn't know how to fix it. Technician said they will foward the problem to Nissan and I should hear from them! I have yet to get a phone call, e-mail etc. Very FRUSTRATING.
Got a 2016 Maxima Platinum 1.5 mo ago... And it's been an issue since new. At the dealer for 3 days, they said it worked except if the seat was moved. So... they told me it's a "feature," and it would remember the seat position as long as the seat wasn't moved. Say what?!? Confused when I left, mad by the time I got home. Thanks for the Consumer Affairs number, that's next on my list, anyone with news please report back. Thanks for the posts, all, I'm glad I'm not losing my mind.
I called Nissan Consumer Affairs again since I did not hear from the dealership or from Nissan. The representative I spoke to told me that my case will be sent to the regional level and I should hear from them. We will see! We must keep calling Nissan and put pressure to fix the problem. We all paid a lot of money for this car and it should work right.

Will update as time goes by
Mine works
During the first week of ownership, I fought the seat memory issue. I stopped trying to set the memory codes and let the keys take care of memorizing the settings. 3 months and 8000 miles later, it's working perfectly.
Dano2106,
Can you explain "let the keys take care of memorizing the settings"
Explanation
By this I mean that as I leave my Maxima it remembers my key. It remembers key #2 as well. When ever either key is used to unlock the car, the seats and mirrors return to the positions as they were when the key was used last. You need to enable the key recognition setting.
Seat Positioner

5. Hit unlock button on FOB---hold for a few seconds---this pairs setting with FOB
6. Your done
7. Turn vehicle off
8. Before entering or starting vehicle to leave---hit the unlock button on FOB

Where did you get this procedure and how long has it worked? Mine has remembered for up to three weeks at a time, but then clear out.

Long story –short---it works
Longer story
We have owned 2016 Maxima Platinum since June. We have 2 FOB’s in operation. Had problems since the beginning. The Key Link Settings are not auto recognizing the FOB’s as they should at times. The work around, until Nissan gets the problem repaired, is the instruction I gave in earlier post.

This is covered at the end of the 2016 Maxima seat positioning video(2:04-2:34), but in a subtle way. In the event there are 2 FOB’s in the vehicle, and the FOB drivers are changing. The procedure is to turn vehicle off, the new FOB driver is to hit the unlock button on their FOB. This will force the vehicle to recognize the new FOB driver. Seats will reposition to the new FOB driver.
Hope this helps

My wife and I have never tried using the the set key pad on the door before entering or starting the vehicle.
We have only used set key pad (1 or 2)---to set seats/mirrors/steering to a certain FOB (1 or2)
The driver entering vehicle should press the unlock button on FOB---car will recognize which driver is entering

How did you set your seats? Did you 1. position your seats, mirrors, steering--then hit set 1 or set 2 ---------or-----------did your use some other method to save your seat, mirror, steering settings?
Trust in the fobs
I set the seat and mirrors to my liking and locked the car when I exited. Wife did the same. I don't touch the memory buttons.
Problem since new for me (3 mo). Called Nissan, immediately escalated to Regional, they called back in two days and they also called my dealer, who contacted me. They are going with a module replacement; we'll see if that works. Thanks to the poster of the Nissan number, Nissan has been responsive (although I'm far from out of the woods on this).
I just sent my in for repair and the dealer told me they could not reproduce the error. Ugh. Does anyone have steps to reproduce the error? I'll set the memory and then notice it just stops working at a random point.
2nd time repaired
I started this thread. A few months ago I had the seating module replaced. The dealer confirmed from electrical testing it wasn't working. It lasted 2 months and broke again. They installed a 2nd module yesterday. Will keep you posted
As far as using the key 1 vs key 2, what happens if you're using key 1 and had valet park it but they moved the seat. Will the key remember your setting or just the last one used by that particular key?

The key will remember the memory position (1 or 2) as programed by you. If the valet moves the mirrors or seats the memory position will not be changed unless the valet pushes the memory buttons to accept the new input, then the key will automatically connect to the new input position.

But if the seat module is not working it may not remember the key setting.

Yes,this seems to be an ongoing problem,my friends 16 platinum has been back to the dealers a couple times and they checked it,and stated its ok,NOT""" mine does it every time,so if someone finds a fix, please post.
Well, after escalation to Regional, the dealer worked with Regional and replaced the seat control module on 10/20/15. It worked for three months just fine, then started losing its memory again, anywhere from 4 to 9 days apart; it's happened six times since reoccurrence started on 1/27/16. The Regional extension I had been talking to about the first case is no longer working, so I had to start over again with Nissan Consumer Affairs and have a new case number. Sigh.
I find it interesting that so many of us are this problem. However, every time I go to the dealership or call consumer affairs they always reply with "this is the first I have heard of this problem" . I get the feeling they really do not know or want to fix the problem. My memory seats still do not work properly.
2 modules replaced, both failed

Fixed for almost 5 months and counting
I know that the memory seat issue has been a problem for Platinum owners since the beginning. Luckily my local dealership has been very helpful throughout the whole situation. There was a couple of failed attempts, but I actually think they fixed it with this different repair they done. It's been over 4 months and it has been working perfect. Attached is a copy of the invoice with the part number to show your dealer service department for the solution.

Just in case anybody was wondering what the "failed attempts" were, they consisted of a "regrounding of the wire connectors under the seat" which only allowed the memory to last for about a week before it stopped working again. The other consisted of replacing a module which controlled the memory seat. This repair initially showed some promise, but about a month later it stopped working as well. But this repair which I believe fixed it for good, I was told from the service manager that they had too remove the bottom part of the seat completely along with the wiring and stuff under it and replaced it with a new part sent directly from the engineers over at HQ
Potentially good news. After four shop visits and a new module that failed in two months, the service manager at a different dealership contacted a new products engineer. It seems that the original seat control module was subject to noise that could cause memory loss, and they have a newer, more robust module with better filtering. It has a new part number, and I have one on order, so fingers are crossed again. Sorry, I don't have any paperwork yet or the P/N, and the above was from memory of my conversation... But I think it backs up Wareagle92's fix. The new part was first introduced in 10/15 but as we can see I don't think everyone got the proverbial memo.
