Steering wheel wear?

Is anyone else seeing their steering wheel showing signs of wear? I have some minor wrinkles and creases already...don't feel these should be appearing after only 3k miles on the car...I've used the heated steering wheel a few times but don't think that should make a difference...yet.

I think it's just the nature of leather. They seem to have used a softer grade leather on the steering wheel, so, just like the seat, I'm sure its going to do that. I agree, it does seem a little too soon, though. I would certainly mention it to the dealer when you take it in for your complimentary 5000k service.

I noticed from day one that the steering wheel leather on the eighth gen has a totally different feel to it than the leather on my previous Maxima generation steering wheels - sort of a 'crisp dry' feel. Every time I slide my hands across the leather makes a raspy sound. This does not bother me at all, but left me hoping I will get the same long-term service from this leather as I have with previous Maxima leather steering wheels. I was glad the heating element works, as I have had to have a heated wheel during the cooler half of the year ever since I passed age eighty.

Spidgeon - I have 3500 miles on my Platinum and my steering wheel does not have any wrinkles as I see all around yours.

LOTH - I agree with you about the feel of the wheel. Unlike any I've had before, but I like it.
