2016 NISMO Maxima
2016 NISMO Maxima
I know there was a thread about this months ago, but has anyone heard anything new about it? I've found a couple websites talking about it and this one has specs for a car that's not even a sure thing yet....I dont think. Of course Nissan Of Athens well tell you what you want to hear when I asked if this was a thing. He said yes, and they'd be getting them sometime in 2016. "When you actually have one in your lot, you have my number....call me to come see it, and I'll listen to your pitch" I said to the guy. We'll see. I'm still very happy with my 2011SV and will upgrade eventually...I'm only at 47K which is still a FRESH Maxima. From what I see, they're sticking with the FWD option. If this was a thing, and they went RWD, or AWD, I'd be all over it...still might be. Somehow I think they will disappoint in the chassis dept.

Why wouldnt/couldnt they? If its going to be a special model for a niche market, they could use some RWD chassis like the Infinitis or something of the like. They would not use the CVT, and modify the engine, suspension, wheel base, ect. They could make it super badass, but if it still has FWD, its doesnt completely fulfill the "sports sedan" profile. Maybe I'm alone in my opinion...whatever. Not that I dont LOVE my Maxima....and I'll buy another one. Here's another link..you have to share it read it all I think.

Only thing a Nismo model had over the base model was normally more HP, better suspension, better brakes, ground effects and different rims. They never swapped complete drivetrains.
I just learned of the Q70. It would be awesome if they created the Maxima off the Q70 chassis. That's what I wanted for Maximas to be instead of the neglected-because-of-Altima older child of the Nissan.
Because for a limited run, they wouldn't make money but lose money. Also, it wouldn't be a maxima anymore. If they are going to do RWD/AWD nismo, they have to do it for all maxima.

Oh. Well, shows what I know. It would be awesome anyway, and I'd still buy a Nismo Max with 325HP, 298FPT, and better suspention, ect...
