2016 platinum wind noise
2016 max platinum with 1300 mi so far. At 40 mph and above, there is a noticeable wind noise at top driver side window. I drive a similar model from the same dealer and I did not hear it. Consumer affairs sent some engineer who said that the (road noise) is not a defect but normal part of the design. This means dealer can't authorized a fix for a non-existent problem. I was not there when the engineer drove the car. Trying to see if that could be scheduled.
Has anyone notice similar issue? Love the car, but $40K.....

Road noise as opposed to wind noise is mostly generated by the tires. My platinum came with Continentals, which are not premium tires (Mercedes and others use them as well). When the time comes for replacement I plan on shopping for a better (quieter tire). Probablywill notice even better ride also.

Can't speak for the OP, but massaging the seal around the driver side window fixed the wind noise. Seal may have been disrupted by the window tinting.
As far as road noise, it really is subject to the quality of the road, driving it on local highways I have a lot of noise. Had an opportunity to take the new Max for a trip yesterday and once I got on a smooth road the ride was amazingly quiet.

I had this same problem which o had posted a thread on earlier. The wind noise almost sounds like a whistle in my platinum drivers side window (close to the mirror) at about 45mph. I have been scouring the net searching for answers and so far nothing that i have found has fixed the problem.

This may sound strange but I believe I have identified the "wind noise" and it's not wind. My daughter and I were driving in my Maxima (SR), and I heard wind coming from my driver's side window...she heard it to. Tried everything suggested...messed with the rubber around the window...tried to find something loose...nothing.
Started driving with everything off to see at what speed the noise was audible so I could tell my dealer. It wasn't at ANY speed. Frustrated...
After giving up, the first thing I did was turn the cooled seats on high (I live in Florida so it's still pretty warm). That was it. On high, the air blowing to cool the seats creates a noise in the left side of the driver seat that I took for wind coming in through the window. On the first 2 or 3 settings, you can't hear it, but crank it up and it's clearly audible. Turned it off and on several times and it absolutely was the "wind noise". My daughter heard it as well.
Try this with nothing else on in the car. I am very happy I discovered this and that it is not a defect in the sealing surfaces of the car. The car is (as advertised) extremely quite inside).
Weird...but true!
