How to change halogens to led headlights on 2016 maxima
Are there any 2016 maxima owners who has changed the stock halogen bulbs to leds?.....if so was it an easy or hard job?. On my 2012 maxima only the dealer could do it since it meant taking off the whole front end. The manual says it can be done on the new max.....change the bulb that is, but the drls look a lot better with led lighting than the halogens.....my opinion. And as well the fog lights I wish to change out. Would appreciate any advice on both.
The halogens are not bad at all, but if u want a nice even light display it looks a lot better having headlights, drls and fog lights matching....Im still waiting to see a good easy way to install the leds in place of the stock halogen headlight bulbs....any photos would b appreciated as well.
Best color temp to get if you want it all to match would be 4000k-5000k range. I have 6000k and the light has too much blue to match the LED DRLs. I'm just waiting for my bulbs to go to make the change. Hate waisting money... Still looks good in the mean time. If any want an idea of what they look like look thru my posts.
I had to reply to your message, I did change headlights to led's this weekend...good news is you don't have to remove the bumper to gain access to the headlights. You can reach them by going thru the wheel well on either side. Another forum member posted this info and I followed the tip and got it done. You first turn your wheel on either side inward and then remove the retaining clips on the wheel well cover and one bolt on the very bottom end of the front bumper. It took about 30 minutes per side because I wanted to take my time and not rush it but it worked out great and light look really good. I installed 6000k leds.

If you go to the top of this page and click on gallery....then search GWhite, my 2 pics are there. Should b the first GWHITE on page #174087. The lights look great and match the drl's real good....check it out.
I have seen others saying 5000k is a close match but 5000k looks a little bit less than bright white light which 6000k outs off....I guess it's the car owners choice as far as that goes. I'm happy with the 6000k choice made. Good luck with your choice, either way it'd gonna look a lot better than the stock halogens.
I posted this somewhere else but it applies here too.

Not that great, problem is they shine to low and wide, and leave a black or dark line acrossed your line of vision, and when you dip down into a valley it gets real bad, enough so you will need high beam,i am thinking of a set of the HID to replace low beam only.
