Not pleased with Nissan quality at the moment. The water blew this valve, whatever it is open, right under the brake. Came rushing in and drenched my pants.

"large puddle"... a brand new car. I wouldn't do that even if the president's convoy was honking behind me.

Oh NO! Sorry to hear that. How deep was it?
I wonder if the guy in the Lamborghini fared when he did it.

The puddle was on the HIGHWAY, it wasn't very deep. Unavoidable, everyone going 45mph in the rain and cars in the lane next to me.

This is really sad to think there's a defect preventing a Maxima from driving in rain on the highway.

Hav there been other issues like this? I'm sure someone would have had to mention this. Is the car still driveable? What did the dealership say?

I bought my Maxima at the same time I was moving into our new home, and very soon after I purchased the Maxima, we had eleven straight days with rain. We were making two trips each day carrying things from our old home to our new home, and hit many puddles with not a drop getting in the car. You must have had a defective part to have such a disappointing drenching.

I am hopeful that one of the aftermarket companies will have rain guards available for the 8th gen Maxima sometime soon. We can't leave our windows up in the miserable middle-Georgia heat without baking everything in the car, but, without rain guards, the inside gets soaked if we crack the windows when we shop.

Update: Dealer reseated the "boot" (see original pic) and said there was no problem, it may have just been improperly seated or tightened from the factory.

Now, the Sonar system (backup sensors) and Adaptive Cruise have stopped working... so it's back to the dealer in a few days. The car drives OK otherwise, but its hard to say what else is not working since there are 0 error codes anywhere.

This would have been extremely dangerous if I put on Adaptive Cruise and expected the car to stop itself when there are cars in front....

Sad, but I'm not sure I'm going to be getting another Nissan after my 3 year lease ends.

That's not good, man I hope they don't have call backs for that,ya looks real wet inside,i would be pissed to. Now we did have a ton of water on our highway a month ago, here in maine,it was enough that we had to reduce speed from 70 to 45 posted by flashing lights, but before the reduced speed limit took hold,i was running along at 70 and was hydroplaning enough and to often to make me feel warm and cozy so I already reduced speed, but did not have problem like you did, there must be something that was not installed on your car,i hope your dealer is standing behind it for you.
