Question on int lighting and ext lighting options
Anyone give me their opinion on the interior and exterior light options?
I ordered the SV and the dealer is installing these options
Wondering if anyone like or dislikes the options

I assume you're talking about the ambient lighting (interior) and the external ground lighting (along the side of the car between the wheels). I like both of these options, I don't have the external ground lighting on mine yet, but I'm considering installing it. I have an SL so it came with the ambient lighting on the inside and I really like it. I haven't turned it off yet so I'm not sure if its a noticeable improvement or not, but it does make the car seem very classy.
I would not have ordered either option based on the cost. But I was looking in late June, and they found a DBP Platinum in the pipeline and put my name on it. They didn't tell me about the lighting options until just before it was delivered, so I was able to use my ambivalence toward them as a negotiating tool.
But I have to admit, now that I've had them for almost 6 months - I do kinda like them. ;-)

I've got the ambient lighting and the exterior ground on my SR. Love them both. I still fiddle with my interior lighting feature to see what color I like best. I also have the illuminated kickplates. All in all, I think they are worth the cost.
In reading through this (and other) threads, I am getting the impression there may be some slight confusion between ambient lighting and accent lighting.
AMBIENT INTERIOR LIGHTING
This is a set of VERY DIM off-white lights that create a soft glow inside the car at night. Not enough light to annoy the driver, but just enough to enable us to locate the console, some switches, door locks, etc. These ambient lights are not an option. They are not on the S, but are standard on the other four Maxima models.
INTERIOR ACCENT LIGHTING
This is a set of lights in nooks and cranies such as the cupholders with an on/off switch in the console storage interior, along with controls that enable us to switch between 20 colors. This is an option package that has an MSRP of $250. It is not standard on any Maxima model.

I have enjoyed the Interior Accent Lighting (I keep it on my college color), but must admit my granddaughters have more fun with it than I do. By contrast, the External Ground Lighting has proven to be a huge blessing. We have lots of floodlights around our home and garage that automatically come on when triggered by anything that moves, but sometimes find ourselves in areas away from home with inadequate lighting. Simply opening any door when our lights are on (or unlocking the car at night with the remote) automatically turns on four lights under the quarterpanel on each side of the car. No stepping in puddles. No stepping on snakes. No stepping on the edge of a curb and twisting our ankle. Lights stay on long enough to get us to safer ground (or an entrance door). At our advanced age, these lights are so needed.
