I wish I knew
Checked all around garage and don't see anything
Don't know what happened, don't know whether to bother putting the ceramic coating on now
I've seen good paint detailers fix worse things than that to look like new. Don't get the whole fender painted until you check with a detailer.

I agree- my then NEW 7th gen got smashed in a parking lot 4k worth damage, body shop took care of it looked like never happened. I'm sure this can be fixed up.

My brother-in-law used to do detailing, and I've worked with a dealership that had one. They use things like airbrushing and scratch filling materials, and a good one can make even horrible-looking scratches disappear without having to paint fenders and quarter panels. And they can do it a LOT cheaper.
Check with local dealers and body shops - they usually know the good detailers in your area.
Can not believe after two weeks this happens
About to get car opti coated and now this...
Scratches multiple ones<br/>And a couple down to the metal
Try this - Clean the area first then apply toothpaste and gently scrub it with a scotch brite pad (green side) and almost all the scratches will disappear, once you are done the area will look much better than what it looks now and may even be able to fix it with a bit of a touch up paint. I did this on my previous car (Acura TL ) and it works.
Update: Brought to the detailer this morning he said best fix is to repaint quarter panel if he touched it up since it's a tri coat you'll be able to see the defect more.
Went to see sales manager at the dealer to see whether he would maybe give me some free touch up paint and they're going to repaint the quarter panel free of charge

Wow huh
Repaint it free of charge?! Wow. That's impressive since they are obviously under no obligation to do that. That's hard to believe. Good for you!

Nice deed by them, sorry to see this happen although. Just make sure that when you get the car back to check it out in pure sunlight, especially since its pearl white. Based on experience with that color what looks good on a cloudy day can look like hell on a sunny day. Just a word of advice!
I have loved all generations of the Maxima, but must admit that one BIG reason I stick with the Maxima is because my Nissan dealer has been the best dealer I have ever worked with, and I have been driving since the 1940s (yes, I am old and gnarly, and switched from ordering 'senior drinks' to ordering 'geezer gulps' and 'senile sips' at restaurants decades ago).
