OK... so I love my 2016 platinum and one thing is driving me nuts. I plug my iPhone into the USB port continually so I stay charged up and so I can listen to music easily (I think it sounds better through USB than Bluetooth).
You can't close the door , or hide the USB wire..... so I have my phone sticking in a cup holder and a wire sloppy around the center console.
Has anyone come up with a neat way to put in a cradle or something to hold phone and not have door to USB ports open and wires dangling around?
It is such a clean looking interior and then it drives me crazy to not be able to run the wire back under dash or something..... or even a USB in glove box that I could hide better.
That is probably why they have the USB and AUX ports in the center armrest compartment for the Middle East version of the Maxima. Everything stays clean that way.
This should do the trick and it cost less than 10 bucks
That isn't the problem though..... the problem is the cord still has to come out of the compartment and the lid wont shut because the cord......and even if it shut, you got a cord dangling around the center console. I think I am gonna drill through the back of the compartment and run up passenger side and put phone cradle over there.
If you can forgo the sound quality differences, get a cigarette lighter charger and plug it into the center storage. I believe there is a charger in there.
I assume closing your phone in the cubby is out of the question?
I do that sometimes, but sure makes it tough to see it..... not like texting and driving, just sometimes u need to see it....and most definitely at red lights, etc. i like the Nissan interface, but not good enough to run phone. If that makes sense?
What I did was bought a retractable cable from Amazon for my phone. It's so much more convenient to just have it to retract all the way back when I'm done using it. As well as to stretch it out when I need to use my phone while driving.
This is my current set up. Just imagine the phone inside the case (had to take the picture somehow). It does fit snugly and doesn't move. This is with an iPhone 6 Plus with a spigen phone case so it's relatively large. The phone itself covers most of the wires and all.
