Planning to buy 2016 Maxima

After doing some research online for my next car and almost concluding on BMW X1 I have decided to go 2016 Maxima. Currently I drive 2012 Altima 2.5 S and I am pretty happy with my car.

If possible I am planning to purchase Maxima in June/July, can you guys suggest if that would be too late for deals to be saturated since I believe 2017 Maxima will be out.

I am planning to buy Pearl white Platinum (going fully loaded after having base version of 2.5 S Altima without even a USB/Bluetooth)

Rebates change from month to month and you'll get a deal almost anyplace. Do your research. Check a few loacal dealers advertised internet price and go for the place with the best discount. Get the car you want tho. Make sure you get the color and options you want. Too many dealers have the right car so get what you want.

I don't expect to see the 2017 Maximas at dealers before late August. Nissan will not be rushing the 2017, because it will be very similar to the 2016. In fact, there will probably be no changes of significance, as there seldom are changes the second year of a generation. Those come in the third year.

I would expect dealers would begin trying to clear their lot of 2016 Maximas some time in July (some may start in June). By August, you should be able to get a very good deal on any 2016 Maximas still on the dealer lots. But keep in mind that the choices become more limited as the supply is being cleared.

If your dealer does not have exactly what you want, but another dealer in your area does, you can usually get your dealer to swap vehicles and bring the car you want to your dealer's lot, so you can buy it from your dealer. I have done that with my last three Maxima purchases.

We do dealer trades on the regular... Sometimes a pain depending on the dealer with the car being good about contacting us back and being willing to swap cars or take a check for the car you want. Dealer trades are also difficult if you are really putting a beat down on us. The less profit the less likely we dealer trade, but if there's even a few bucks(meat on the bone) we take the deal and swap for you. New car numbers are hard to hit and everyone needs a deal. Lots of times the actual profit on the car deal is in the negative numbers but we take a chance to hold a few points on your rate or you buying a warranty or service contract.

thanks for your insight. Always good to understand what is being considered on the other side of the table.

I'm thinking of calling and offering 35k plus TTL on one of the 15 platinums sitting on their lot- they have all been there since july 2015. Made the mistake going in last summer and letting them tell me MSRP was best they could do- now they are still sitting.
