Those 5000k look spot on to the LED DRL to me. From what I read, 4300k is the most light output, so going above 5000k you will lose output/distance.

Where do you mount your ballast on the passenger side?

I recently changed all my lights to HID and blew the fuse on my fogs as well. I looked in panel next to battery and can't find the fuse for the fogs. Can u tell me which one and where it's located. I've looked inside under steering wheel and under the hood next to battery. Didn't see it.

When changing fogs the 15A fuse will blow so I upped it to a 20A fuse and all is just fine.

I did installed this one "Blitz II Series: 35W S2 HID Kit"

Looks great, one bulb burned and asked for replacement. They were responsive and asked me to do some test to know which part should be replaced.

not so bright but it's good specially in dark areas and roads.

hope this helps

I had the OPT7 35w kit. http://www.ebay.com/itm/OPT7-35w-HID...vwFW-A&vxp=mtr
It sucked. No light output and 5k bulbs were very blue as I think the ballasts were garbage.

Switched to Innovited 35w 4300k AC kit. Night n day difference, and the 4300k matches the DRL pretty good. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Innovited-AC...l5FXfQ&vxp=mtr

Sorry to Hijack the thread. But I figured this may be the best place to ask. Where is the up and down adjustment of the headlight capsules? I looked under the hood but could not find it. A pic would be great.

I think the 6000k will work perfect, I installed them for my fogs and are amazing.

I was able to install both in under 30 minutes, all from the top, without having to go through the wheel. The driver side was a breeze and took about 10 mins. The passenger side was a little more challenging since this is less access, but if you can squeeze your hand in, you can install it from the top.

I went with a 6000k Kit from OPT-7 (all plug and play, didn't have to splice any wires)

Have you done or planning to do the high beams too?

For those of us who want to match the headlights to the LED DRL's...anyone know the Kelvin temperature of the OEM DRL?

Wouldn't knowing that give a better idea as to whether to choose 5000K or 6000K HIDs?

I think that 5000K will be the closest, cause 6000K is nothing close in my opinion base on my car bulbs. I installed 6000K on fogs and is not the same.
Look at Marc comment, he said that 4300K match the DRL color temp.

Thanks, Robin. As with many things, across the internet this subject draws different answers with each poster claiming that their's is the correct one. Perhaps the OEM DRL LEDs are different in temperature for different brands/models.

The consensus, as far as I can tell, comes down to either 4300 or 5000, with some outliers going for 6000.

I don't think 6000k will do, if I were you will try 4300/5000. Blessings

I've tried 4300k and its yellower than the DRLs.

5000k seems to be the closest that I've seen so far.
