Replacing Interior Map Light Bulbs

On my 2016 Platinum I find it extremely dim inside in the evening making it difficult to look in the center console or read something.. Can the map light bulbs be changed to a brighter bulb? Possibly an LED? If so, has anyone done this and have recommendations on what bulbs to use, where to get them and how to replace? Thanks.

I am not sure if the 2016 is too much different than the 2000 when it comes to the map lights. I have changed out all of my interior lights with LED. It made a world of difference for me. I added my car to the garage on Amazon and just checked fit for all of them and found them to be really reasonable. All of them should still be relatively easy to replace. You should just be able to take a small flathead screwdriver and pop the plastic covers out. Look for a small flat opening on the light cover to give you access. The map lights were different than the interior on mine, so you might want to chck to see if they are different before ordering. There are 3 different bulbs that went into my interior I.E. door illumination, overhead light and map lights were all different but easy to find on amazon. Let me know if you have any troubles and I will try to walk you through it better if need be but it really is pretty simple. Good Luck!

Cheers,

Page 50 shows how to get the interior lighting out. It is already LED so replacing them may not work.

Hi brother. I see that you have lots of experience wit maximas. I want to change the brake and signal lights to LEDs. Do you know what type of bulb do I have to buy?

Thanks
