Burnt coolant out of exhaust

Anyone burning minute traces of coolant out the exhaust? Level in coolant reservoir is just slightly less than half when cold. Have marked same for monitoring purposes. When I throttle it I will get white smoke out the exhausts and it's not condensation.

Car has about 10000 miles on it. Oil is NOT contaminated. Don't mind topping coolant off every 25K miles. If I decide to keep it I will bring it to attention of dealer.

The coolant resovior level can fluctuate from time to time. If indeed you have coolant blowing out the exhaust then you've got a head gasket or block issue. Are you 100% sure that's the case? I'd expect some fluid in the oil, milky colored and the motor to be down on power. Maybe a CEL too from O2 sensor contamination.

Just take it to the dealer.

I've owned probably 100 cars/trucks in my time and many of them real beaters (60s,70s and 80s stuff) and I've head gaskets on the exhaust side leak and it's unmistakable; lots of white. This is much much less. I was down on the ground and smelt it coming out of the exhaust along with some "steam". That is after 45 minutes on a highway @ 75F. Also, when I throttle it I've occasionally seen big clouds out the rear view and this has been on the highway as well.

The dealer will be a clown show so I will leave till the point, as you mentioned, that codes start popping. Thanks for the reply.

Damn, that's hard to believe. I mean, I'm sure you know what you're talking about, etc in diagnosing the white smoke but a new VQ35 with a motor problem? That's what's surprising.

Can you get the cooling system pressure checked?

I agree; what are the odds? So I ignored the white puffs. My son followed me on the highway and he remarked to me how much "condensation" came out of the vehicle and he used to sell Nissan. Until I smelled it, I had discounted it out of hand for the reason you pointed out. I have the reservoir marked, so time will tell. I'll report back in the fall. Best Regards.

I've had similar issues as well. I can smell coolant when car is idling with windows down. Coolant was topped off by my dealer when I had 7000 miles on it . They did pressure test on cooling system , no leaks. I do get a puff of whitish smoke from time to time when I get on throttle heavy.

I haven't noticed any coolant smell, but I have noticed large amounts of white smoke while idle at lights. It looks like a cold car on a cold winter's morning...but it is June and warm out. I discounted it for being a new car and maybe due to some residual grease and/or other burn off. I'll keep an eye, and nose, out. I have 2300 miles on mine.
