New to the forum and was looking for some help. I have been debating getting a 2016 maxima. After going home i was little upset over the lack of Apple car play which is in my current car.

I was wondering if anybody can tell me how the ipod playlist works in the car. Do you see a list of your playlists and tracks with album covers.
If anyone has any pictures or video they could share that would be awesome.

Sounds stupid to hold out buying a car for something so small but during my test drive i had no cord to test the system out

 

Surprising the entire Nissan Connect infotainment system is quite good. Probably one of the best manufacturer built systems I've ever used. Its easy to use and relatively feature rich - especially with the XM integrations.

But I also was disappointed with no CarPlay integration in the '16s - especially when it was announced the '17s will have it. Though, because the Nissan system is so good, it's not as big a deal as I once thought.

As to your specific question, first, you have to be using Apple Music to get the tightest integration. And if you do and you plug in your iPhone via usb/lightning cable, you'll see album art and get access to all your playlists. Its a level beyond just being able to control basic functions via BT that you get with Android devices. But note that if you use spotify, you lose the playlist level controls. But do still get album art and the like.

 

 

Thanks guys... This was the exact info I was looking for, It doesn't look much different then my current car and that was what i was worried about. They are offering me a good deal on the 16 but was debating now that the 17 has apple car play.

Work hard for a 17 and then right when you have dried out that well swing to a 16 and get a smoking deal.
