Peeling white paint on new maxima

As I was washing my car today I noticed that in between the passenger side bumper and fender the paint is peeling off (see images). I went to the dealer and he took pictures and said he will reach or to corporate.

Does anyone has experience with a paint warranty claim?

Do you think I should just touch it up??

It looks to be contained in one area, will it spread??

I got an estimate from a body shop nearby and quoted $400 parts and labor

I did a warranty claim on my 7th gen. earlier in the year for an area about the size of yours on the rear trunk. The dealership simply took my vehicle to a local body shop that does their work. They had the vehicle almost a week. The repair work done is awesome, as they did a fantastic job. If your paint has peeled it my spread, but if its a chip, it won't. Good luck.

I noticed a couple of weeks ago that mine is doing the same thing. My problem is that I XPel Ultimate covering the front fascia that would have to be replaced. I can imagine how that conversation would go at the stealership...

That problem is only going to get worse. Take it back and make sure it's covered under warranty which it should be.

I test drove a 2016 white maxima last week. I noticed the exact spot on that car paint peeling. Told the sales guy. Not way would I'd buy this car..
I then looked at another white maxima on the lot. That one had a paint run by the gas door..I ended up leaving that dealership..
If I were you I would request my entire bumper be repainted. That should not be happening.

WOW! I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one with this issue with Pearl White. Mine is peeling/chipping in the exact same spot! It annoys the **** out of me because I'm super OCD with how I care for my cars

Sorry to hear about your paint issue. Great looking maxima by the way. How did you get a black roof on a SR? I thought only the ones with moon roofs had black roofs?

Thanks, but yeah I just wrapped my roof in black vinyl to give it a more seamless look front to back versus just the plain white roof.

To 3.5 Maxi:

Did you get this resolved? The dealership said that once they reach corporate and get approval they would repaint the entire bumper. Being OCD I checked other forums on peeling paint between bumper and fender and the first thing that comes up are 370z and rogue. The consensus from multiple forums is the repaint doesn't go well the first time, send it back for repaint again might match almost perfect, then it peels again at the same spot...

Those that have this issue recommend touch up. This is the route that I am planning on pursuing. I will still have Nissan review and warranty that this will not spread and I am willing to repaint if this gets worse.

I will keep everyone posted.

I haven't even had the chance to deal with mine yet. I work at a Nissan dealership as a service writer and I talked with my Manager about it I just have to find a second to call Nissan about it. I'm honestly dreading a whole bumper re spray just because I'm so OCD and the paint match has to be damn near perfect or I'm gonna be pissed.

Not saying it isn't a paint issue, however it isn't for me. I have the exact same spot missing the tiniest bit of paint. I know it was from the time I misjudged a curb which was probably an 1/8th of an inch higher than the bottom of my bumper. It scraped the bottom and pushed the bumper into the fender and rubbed that little bit of paint off. Not saying that's what happened, but if it did, it would look exactly the same. You might want to check the front and bottom of the bumper. Maybe someone other than you, made the same mistake I did.
