Vibration at lower speeds

Hey folks,

Has any one had this issue, car is jerky and vibrating while deaccelerating with foot off the gas in speeds between 35-25 km/h, it looks like its something wrong with the transmission, it happens most of the time, however still sometimes the car runs so smooth, would like to know if anyone had a similar problem with his maxima, and what could be the fault.

Cheers

So they test drove the car and compared to another 2017 and found the same. In their thinking that means all is ok. i would not take that answer and they have escalated it and contacted regional. When i hear something i will post it. If you have any updates, please post

holdmtight-

Depends on how severe the jerking is. I've owned a CVT for 130,000 mlles now, and I have to admit that on rare occasion I get a little jerking, like when descending a hill with 4 adults on board and cruise control set. Won't do it with just me in it.

Got a tiny bit of jerking after I replaced the battery, but that cleared up once the system "relearned" my driving habits.

If this is the first CVT you have ever owned no wonder it seems weird to you. Sometimes its just the nature of a CVT. I just traded my '07 Altima SL for a '17 Maxima SL cause I just love the CVT and I love the mpg the CVT gives. Sure, it drives differently from a std. auto transmission but if it were your first time in a standard automatic you would be wondering what the heck is that bumping feeling as I accelerate, or as your decelerating you wonder why you keep getting pushed forward a little each time she downshifts to a lower gear. You'll get over it.

My 2016 Platimun edition Maxima had the same problem... vibration/heistation at acceleration or deceleration from the Tranny. The Dealer hooked up their computer to the OBD port and immediately found the code almost as soon as we turned on the highway from their parking lot. It was the tranny. The fix was simple, although a little involved. They had to order the valve plate with the channels (CVT Control Valve Assembly Part #31705-29X1A) as well as perform a flush and change out the fluid and the gasket on the oil pan. This was done at 1538 miles on the ODO. I am now at 23K miles and all is absolutely perfect with the Tranny. The explanation was that if the channels have any dirt in them, or are malformed to any slight degree, this will cause this hesitation. Honda had a huge problem with this issue as well.

Hope this helps!

Did they hook up a computer to the car and do a test drive? That is the only way to catch the code from the tranny. if they are not able to do that, or don't want to, then find another dealer to fix it... the car is too fun and too nice to replace because of an incompetant dealership...

I own a Maxima 2014. Have to say it is the best car I ever bought. Its my first CVT transmission and I just love it and the mileage it has been giving. its been 5 years now nad no serious problems came up. Except for 1 tiny little thing which is pretty much similar to what you are saying here. my maxima vibrates when i accelerate at a lower RPM lets say 1500 rpm and accelerating. doing so it vibrates a lot but at 2 or even 1.9 rpm it doesn't. this has been happening for quite a while now i don't even remember when it started. maybe 18 months ago. I had it checked with my mechanic and he said just ignore it and keep on driving. I sure hope I can get rid of this vibration one day. any thoughts?

Drove 3 brand new ones a couple years back..All did this...Dealer could not explain.....Hence..I did not buy. They said it would go away......it was probably the tires......BULL****.
