K&N typhoon intake extra hose after install
K&N typhoon intake extra hose after install
I installed the typhoon 69-70002TTK intake and at the end of the install there was a hose that isn't attached to anything. It's a small hose and it looks like it goes to the transmission. I contacted K&N and they told me to contact my dealership or a certified mechanic since they cannot suggest or diagnose what it should go to. It is shown on step 8 as a disconnect hose. It's the smaller hose in the pictures and it's squiggly. I've attached two picture, one from their installation instructions and the end that goes into my transmission. I find it hard to believe that it's not mentioned anywhere in their instructions. I installed this on my 2009 Maxima and now on my 2017.
Any thoughts?

Pretty sure it’s just a breather or overflow for the trans. It’s fine. I wire tied mine to the hose next to it so it wasn’t just dangling there. If you do the same make sure u don’t pull the wire tie tight, just enough to hold it in place
Thanks Mikeymax17 you are correct. I am at the dealership getting an oil change and he asked a mechanic and they said it was a CVT vent hose. Mine has a plastic piece that just went in a hole that was on the shield.
Your welcome man. You would think with all the views these threads get more ppl would have some input. Kinda hard to get answers on this forum sometimes. Glad I was able to offer some type of help.
