wheel fitment

About to pull the trigger on a 2017 SL. I have 2006 Maxima OEM 18 inch wheels I have mounted with winter tires that I am currently running on my 2013 Maxima, that I want on the 2017 for winter. The bolt pattern, thread size and centre bore are all identical between the 2006, 2013 and 2017 (the offset is slightly different). How can I find out if the calipers will get in the way of installation on the 2017?

Once you purchase the '17 just remove one wheel and carefully install the 18" wheel. You should be able to feel your way through that to tell if the 18's will clear the calipers and anything else.

I phoned a dealership and was told the calipers for 2013 and 2017 Maxima's are the same part number number. So I am assuming if the wheels fit the 2013, they will fit the 2017......is this thinking flawed?

Very much that is confirming it will fit. Honestly, stock wheels usually very conservative in spokes design to clear stock brake calipers with ease. Only the 4-pistons big brake kit may cause problem with brake clearance.
