Question about motor oil brand.

Well, I decided to change oil by myself this time. I bought Mobil 1 Extended Performance. And I have put Indimitsu 0W-20 full synthetic oil instead. I used this oil for my previous car which was Subaru. I mean it’s 0W-20 full synthetic oil. I just released that I have mistakenly grabbed Indimitsu bottle instead of Mobil.

BTW is a very reputable motor oil brand in Japan.

Did Nissan change the recommended viscosity on the 3.5 L? As far as I know, it has always been 5w30

And so has Toyota....I guess that is why you see hundreds of thousands of Toyota and Honda vehicles being abandoned on the side of the road because of engine failure traceable to use of 5W-20 and/or 0W-20 oil.

Or not.

I imagine it is easy to outsmart Honda, Toyota, and Nissan engineers when it comes to motor oil. After all, what do they know about engines?

I have always used what the Mfg recommends.......But, I dont have to like it.....My opinion is it is only for MPG reasons...
