Stillen or K&N?

Hi everyone

I've read numerous threads, seen countless opinions on the stillen and K&N Intakes for the 8th gen Maxima. I need a push in one direction or the other, can't make up my mind which one to get. I like the look of the stillen, how the intake tube connects with it to feed it outside air, but I also like the better heat shield on the K&n. My exhaust goes on hopefully next week, need to figure out the other end in the meantime, any and all help appreciated.

Honestly, don't know, don't care. Ask motordyne if you really want to know.

Oh, yes, thanks for the advice, but i never purchase a performance item if I do not know all the specs. In this particular item, the manufacturer must specify the HPs produced like the most makers of this items....and that is a point that really care.....well, besides the construction material, warranty, price and sound, of course.

Kinda got off topic here, that's my fault.

i did not go for the typhoon.
i went for a non-branded, ebay, “typhoon” look-a-like.

their “heat shield” does interfere with the shifter linkage.
so i cut out the corner of it.

SRI sucks in traffic.
intake temp reaches 140 and above, while it is 68F outside.
maybe because it is made of metal...

When you say "their" do you mean K&N or yours? Can you take a pic?

claims of a hp and tq gain must be real or a company WILL be sued ! I always go the low end of the product... Believe what you want but people are sue crazy and would put a lot of company's out of business. Hyundai was sued for stating the 2014 elantra got I do not remember what kind of gas mileage on the sticker and T.V. Then a class action lawsuit went through and people got paid! Look it up false advertisement is a crime..

Intake installed. A little tough, crank case hose supplied wasn't going on, and mounting bracket to the strut tower didn't line up well. Definitely noticed better throttle response. One question for those with the K&N, did you use the screw to mount the tube to the mounting bracket that's attached to the throttle body?
