Rubbing Issue on Eibach?
Rubbing Issue on Eibach?
Hello fellow Maxima enthusiast.
I have a 2016 Maxima Sr and just recently changed my tire from the stock 245/40/19 to a 255/40/19 on stock Sr wheels. I like some meaty tires
. I am ready to purchase the Eibach Prokit lowering springs
My question is: will I have an issue of rubbing due to the tire specs that I have? I do am planning to change my rims to a 19x9.5 by the end of the year and use the same tires that i have now.
Your responds are much appreciated.

also, what is the ride height difference between the sr trim suspension and eibach? Can you post a pic? Thanks
Hmm..
ahh.. don't tell me that. Mine are waiting to be installed with 19" sr wheels. You really are rubbing? Stock OEM tire size too? Or are you using spacers?

it only rubs on a u-turn, which is why it rubs on the rear side of the fender cover.
ride height wise, 1.5” to 2” (maybe). the dealer told me it went down 4” the first time they saw one dropped. talked to me as if i don’t know why it is that way. that made me laugh.
forgot to mention, replaced both lower control arms 60k after pro kit. the ball joint boot for the knuckle ripped. i did not have the camber kit for the first 10k miles.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I did installed mine 1 week ago. I used the Eibach Pro Kit part # 63115.140 from the Eibach website. The drop in the front is 1.5", rear is 1.0". so far, I am not rubbing even in u turns. Stock SR rims, tire size is 255/40/19. The drop in the front is perfect for my taste. The rear is a little higher than I thought. But hopefully, when is settled, it will lower a bit more that what it is now.

Help me understand why you did this to your car? The look is great but then my stock Max also looks good without the chance of being a "driveway dragger" Hard to think the handling and suspension geometry has been positively affected.
When you drop a car (especially with stiffer springs) it dramatically improves the handling over any factory springs. It feels like a total transformed car. That along with the looks (which are 1000 times worth it compared to having that open space between the top of the tires and the fender) makes it well worth the risk of a little scraping and/or having to take a few extra seconds to avoid that scraping.
and dropping it only 1-1.5 inche (s) it barely affects anything with the alignment or the “geometry”. Now if you get to 2” or more then that’s when you have to compensate with a lot of alignment changes.
Phew...I think that more than explains it lol

I’ve had many cars dropped (some on coils adjusted very low) and driven all over the states and overseas with dropped cars. You’d be amazed at what you can get away with with a mild drop like this. And even if you don’t drive it hard you’d love the difference even with every day modest driving. If you’re on a forum you’re already enough of an enthusiast that you’d love it.
