Wheel spacers

OK so I have my intake and exhaust done one my 17 maxima SR midnight, now I wanna look at wheel spacers and possibly the eibach lowering springs. Who has spacers, what size, and does anyone have the springs? Thanks!

I purcahsed my EIbach springs and they are waiting to get installed.. probably won't be until after I buy a house.
Also interested in wheel spacers.. I assume 15-20 mm should be enough

15mm will be a flush fit
20mm will be more aggressive/slight poke

Thanks guys, appreciate it! Any sort of extra work (alignment) need to be done after installation?

don’t forget the front camber bolts.
w/o it, the camber is a bit negative.

i did not put the rear adjustable camber (upper arm) kit...
and it has a noticeable negative camber. but, the wear is not bad.
just keep rotating the tires often.. every 5k miles.. maybe.
that’s my suggestion.

Could you explain that better, in layman's terms? I understand camber. I saw on eibachs site they sell the bolts and the arm as a package?

I tried 20mm spacers and the front tires rubbed the wheel well liners in reverse turns. The back tires hit the fenders under compression ( moderate speed over dips on the road). I have not tried 15mm yet.

Is there any solution to that but keeping the 20mm?

you can roll the back fenders. For the front, some guys removed the wheel well liners and saw a metal plates there. They will remove the metal plates then heat up the liners and push it inward to avoid rubbing. I have not try it thought.

I don't feel too good about my mechanic skills to try that, do shops do it?

depending your thickness, you may have to cut your existing wheel threaded studs.

i had to do that to my 01 altima with 1” spacer and lowered.
with oem height, the wheels stick out lol

I prefer the H&R spacers. They are quality spacers built with a purpose. I like the spacers that have the extended studs already pressed into the spacer itself, and the spacer then attaches to the OEM studs with small acorn nuts.

I just have cheap Ebay brand. They are actually adapters with built in studs. 15mm is more ideal.

I have 7th gen Eibach pro kit front springs in the front and 8th Gen Eibach pro kit in the rear.

I went with 15mm Garageline spacers all around.

I am extremely happy with how it turned out. I read about people bottoming out with the 8th gen eibach springs in the front. Actually I coordinated with people that have experience with both sets. And I didn't want to go to low. I do...but I can't have scraping and the wife wouldn't stand for it being to low. I still wish the rear was slightly lower. I sold the "Leftover" springs to someone else who wanted a slightly lower drop all around (8th gen front/7th gen rear). And BTW, both drops are more level when done these ways. And yes....the 7th Gen Max eibach pro kit absolutely fit the 8th Gen.

But as far as the spacers it sits perfectly flush and no rubbing whatsoever. You do not need any longer bolts or anything like that like people say. And with my drop I did not need camber bolts. I have a thread on here about all of it BTW. But you will need an alignment. I haven't gotten one yet because it's not pulling at all and doesn't feel off even tho I know I still need to get it done.

Lastly, your tire will rub your inner fender well when you turn the wheels all the say on both sides. I saw a guy post that on here and I couldn't find anyone to confirm it. With OEM wheels/tires it will happen for sure. It's liveable but annoying as hell. On the passenger side the fender was actually rubbed to where the stuffing was coming out. I removed the metal plates behind the fender to stop that. Those plates serve no purpose and are very easy to remove.

Thank you for the detailed post, this is really helpful!

Do you experience rubbing on ther inner fender when you turn because the combination of the lowering and wheel spacers? Do you think it would happen with just the spacers?

I am thinking about just doing 15mm wheel spacers with no lowering just to get a wider stance and more flush appearance.

The 20mm looks pretty sick too... Do you think 20mm would rub when turning as well (still no lowering)?

Thanks again!

So I installed the 15mm Garage Line Wheel Spacers. They feel and look great! As you can see below, the rims are aligned with the fender while the tread is within the wheel-well.

They do not usually rub the inner wheel-well BUT if the wheel is turned completely AND one of the front wheels are up on a bump, it may rub a little. That said, I have not had that issue at high speeds.

Your added rear diffuser also sets the car off. Nice work on the wheel set-up so that they don't stick out too far

Just curious if you had to shave down the stock studs at all when using the 15mm bolt-on type spacers? so they won't hit the back of the wheel.
20mm I don't think you have to.
Im also on stock 19s and can't deal with the sunken in look anymore. im pretty low as well. Trying to avoid doing extended studs.

You don't have to shave down the spacers, at least not with the 15mm, probably less with the 20mm. If you get a smaller spacer I believe you will have to shave them down. My stock rims also have recesses in the back where the offset studs land; this may have been the reason why I didn't have to shave them down.

***One thing I didn't do immediately and would recommend you do is roll your fenders. The 15mm will not cause consistent rubbing BUT when you hit bumps while turning or at high speeds the wheel may hit the fender. It caused some strange wear on my tires until I rolled my fenders.
