Kick plate

I spotted some rusty spots on the rear kick plate. Anyone else experiencing it? It should be covered right?

Should be. Where is rust coming from? Bottom of the door?

There is a tendency for water to accumulate on the sills under the doors, that's probably a contributing factor. I'm not sure how so much moisture gets in there, it may just be due to the wideness of those sills compared to other cars I have been in. If I'm not in rush, I usually try to go and wipe those dry after washing the car.

Yes, ever since I bought the car after each wash I noticed that those areas getting wet. So I usually wipe them with microfiber cloth and this particular plate always grabs the cloth like something pointy sticking out of it. I knew it wasnt alright but I would never thought it could bring rust elements. I will visit dealership see what they say.
